Oberfeld Press is an independent publishing imprint—and today we're opening our doors.

We were founded to publish original works at the intersection of design and business. Not trend pieces. Not thought leadership with an expiration date. We're interested in systems thinking, communication, and the deeper architecture behind how organizations build lasting meaning. Work that rewards re-reading. Ideas you'll reference, build on, and integrate into your own process.

Why does this need to exist? Because business publishing has a gap. On one side, academic theory that rarely touches practice. On the other, tactical playbooks that become obsolete before the spine cracks. The space between—rigorous work that's also genuinely useful, built for practitioners who take their craft seriously—is underserved. That's where we live.

Our editorial stance comes down to judgment. We'd rather publish one book that matters than ten that fill a catalog. We're selective because we believe the best ideas deserve the same care in publishing that went into developing them. Structure. Substance. Craft.

Our debut title, The Brand Operating System by Marc V. Stress, arrives in 2026. It's a framework for understanding brand as infrastructure—not decoration. But this imprint is bigger than any single book. Oberfeld Press is a home for thoughtful work that helps people do their professions better, sharpen their thinking, and build things that hold up over time.

Thoughtful in approach. Crafted in execution. Deliberate in what we publish.
